California Get Internet
FCC Program
Discounts on gadgets and internet service
Households can now afford the internet and devices they require for work, education, healthcare, and other purposes thanks to the new federal Affordable Connectivity Program (FCC).
The FCC provides qualifying households with the following benefits:
- Using participating internet providers, you can receive a monthly discount of up to $30 on high-speed internet service.
- For those who live on eligible tribal lands, participating internet providers are offering discounts of up to $75 per month on high-speed internet service.
- A one-time savings of up to $100 on a desktop, laptop, or tablet (with a co-payment of at least $10 but not more than $50).
Monthly internet service costs can often be eliminated by combining the FCC Program with low-cost internet offers from participating providers across California. If your household has a low income or takes part in specific assistance programs, you might be eligible. Per household, only one device and one monthly service discount are permitted.

Involvement in specific government assistance initiatives
You might be qualified for FCC benefits if any member of your household is enrolled in one or more of the following State or Federal Assistance Programs.
- SNAP (formerly known as CalFresh) or Food Stamps
- Medicare
- Woman, Infant, and Child Special Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Pension for Veterans and Survivors
- Programs for free and reduced-price school lunches and school breakfasts, such as those offered at USDA Community Eligibility Provision schools,
- During the current award year, received a Federal Pell Grant
Tribal Assistance
Programs
If you or a member of your household meets the requirements listed above, or if you live on eligible tribal lands, you are eligible for the FCC if your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (link above).
- Any of the previously mentioned federal assistance programs
- General Assistance Division of Indian Affairs Bureau
- Head Start (only for households with the required minimum income)
- Tribal TANF: Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
- Program for Food Distribution on Indian Reservations
Qualify through a child or dependent
If any member of your household engages in any of the aforementioned programs, your household may become eligible. Your household is eligible for the FCC benefit, for instance, if your dependent or child is enrolled in a USDA Community Eligibility Provision school or takes part in the Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program.
If you are currently a beneficiary of Lifeline
You are immediately eligible for the FCC if you currently receive a Lifeline benefit, and you can get both benefits at the same time. Both your Lifeline and FCC benefits can be used for the same or different services.
